Supporting Fair and Accurate Property Assessment in New Jersey
Resources, education, and advocacy for property owners, assessors, and municipal professionals working together to strengthen New Jersey communities.
Who We Are
The Association of Municipal Assessors of New Jersey (AMANJ) is a politically unaligned professional organization dedicated to promoting fair, accurate, and transparent property assessment throughout the State of New Jersey. We serve as a trusted resource by providing guidance for property owners and professional support for municipal assessors and staff.
Founded in 1932, AMANJ exists to support and safeguard the role of the local municipal assessor. Through education programs, legislative advocacy, and professional collaboration, the Association works to strengthen and preserve assessing practices in every municipality across the state.
Our mission is to keep the assessor local and independent, while ensuring that every property owner has convenient access to knowledgeable professionals who can help them understand and navigate New Jersey’s property tax system.
